Travelling from Singapore

Bhutan tours from Singapore

Singapore is one of the closest international gateways to Bhutan — total travel time is just 8–12 hours, often with one stop. Druk Air operates direct routes between Singapore and Paro on selected days, making it possible to do a 5–7 day trip without losing days to long-haul travel. Pricing on the ground is in USD; total cost typically runs SGD 4,500–7,500 per person all-in for a week.

Getting to Bhutan from Singapore

Druk Air's direct Singapore–Paro flights are a major advantage — they run a few times per week and dramatically simplify the trip. Booking the direct flight in advance is essential; it sells out for festival weeks. If the direct flight is full, transit via Bangkok adds 4–6 hours but offers more daily options.

Common routes
  • Direct Singapore–Paro (Druk Air, select days)
  • via Bangkok (BKK)
  • via Kolkata (CCU)

Best time to visit from Singapore

October–November or March–April. Singapore's proximity makes shoulder seasons (May, September) more viable for short trips than they would be from longer-haul origins. Avoid the Singapore school holiday peaks (mid-Nov to Dec, mid-March, June) for better availability.

Recommended trip length

5–10 days. Singapore is close enough that a 5-day visit is genuinely workable — the 7-day Essential Bhutan Journey fits a typical week off plus weekends.

Travel insurance with medical evacuation is mandatory (often required for Singapore residents anyway)
Singapore passports need 6+ months validity past return date
Tipping is expected — budget SGD 150–250 cash per traveller for guide/driver
