Refund policy

We want you to feel confident about booking. Here's exactly what protects you, and what to expect if your plans change.

7-day satisfaction window

Booked but having second thoughts? You have 7 full daysfrom payment to cancel for any reason and receive a full refund — provided travel hasn't started and your government permits haven't been issued yet. No questions asked.

After the 7-day window

Once we begin arrangements with guides and apply for your government permits and Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), real costs are incurred on your behalf. Refund amounts depend on how far out your trip is when you cancel:

More than 45 days before travel
Payment retained

Funds covering arrangements already underway (guide bookings, hotel deposits, permits in progress) are non-refundable. Anything not yet committed is refunded.

21–45 days before travel
50% refund

Half the total tour cost refunded. The retained portion covers permits, hotels, and guide commitments already locked in.

Less than 21 days before travel
No refund

Permits, hotels, guides, and drivers are fully committed at this point. Travel insurance is the only protection here.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance (see below) to protect against unexpected cancellations after the 7-day window.

Government fees & permits

Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and travel permits are government-regulated. Once issued, these fees may be partially or fully non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.

If we have to cancel

If we cannot deliver the confirmed itinerary due to operational constraints, safety, or regulatory changes, we'll offer a comparable alternative or a full refund of payments made to us. Force majeure exclusions apply.

Force majeure

No refunds are guaranteed for events beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, political unrest, government restrictions, pandemics, airline disruptions). We'll make best efforts to recover costs and pass through any recoverable amounts.

Refund processing

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method. Banks may take 7–10 business days to display the funds.

Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory and should cover cancellation, medical, evacuation, and trip interruption.
